Who Qualifies for our Services? |
If you or a loved one are homebound and unable to cook or shop for food, you qualify to receive Meals on Wheels. Most often, our clients are elderly, short- or long-term convalescents, or handicapped persons, but we deliver to those in need regardless of race, color, creed, age or ability to pay. |
Two Nutritious Meals per Day |
Every weekday, including holidays, our dedicated Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver food to clients in our service area. The day's parcel includes enough nutritious hot and cold items for two meals. The meals are prepared under the guidance of dieticians to ensure they include balanced and healthy eating choices. Special diabetic desserts are available, and an alternate food choice is available each day for those who have other health or religious dietary restrictions. |
The Cost to Receive Meals on Wheels |
The cost to receive meals is minimal and is based upon charges by the food suppliers. Our current charge, for those who can afford to pay, is $35.00 per week. A subsidy can be arranged for those who are unable to pay the full amount. |
